Traveling with Infants » travel

One of the more difficult ways to travel is when you must travel with an infant. Infants can create a lot of stress for their parents, however most airlines are extremely accommodating when it comes to flying with infants and will help you make your trip as comfortable as possible, not only for you and your infant, but for other passengers.

For instance, parents with infants can board a plane first. They are usually seated in special areas of a plane and are given extra amenities if needed such as baby food, a safety chair and blankets and linens. Most airlines allow a mother to hold onto their infant during the flight in their lap, so a chair or extra seat is not necessary. This usually applies to infants that are less than 2 years old. If the infant is less than 10 days old, there might be requirements that a mother must meet, such as having a note from a doctor to travel.

Mothers can usually find an attentive flight assistant to help with safety and other needs for the infant. Most mothers can even find a place for them to breast feed aboard comfortably. If you are traveling with an infant, don’t stress out, airlines have made it as comfortable as possible for both you, your infant and other passengers.
