Stop a Running Toilet
Whenever we think of reading more about something, we turn to the Internet to learn more about it. And that is why we have this report here.
If you are constantly being awoken during the night by a running toilet, here are a few things you can do to repair it. Running toilets can be a major drain on your water bill. Many homes spend 30 to 40% of their water on their toilets. If you have a running toilet that is constantly leaking, you can be flushing money down the toilet. Here are some tips on fixing your running toilet.
Most of the time a running toilet is due to a worn out or defective flap. The flap is usually made of rubber and fits on the bottom of the toilet tank. When the toilet is flushed it is lifted and then placed back down flush against the toilet tank. A running toilet flap usually is warped or worn out and does not properly seal the tank so the water continues to go down into the bowl area.
You can go to any home improvement store and get a new toilet tank flap. Make sure that you insert it correctly. It is usually attached with a clip or clamp and for the most part very easy to install. Most toilet flaps are very affordable and can be upgraded every few years if you want to prevent problems.
