Millions of people each year suffer form allergies and one of the more common forms of allergic reactions are those allergic reactions to pollen. Pollen is the way that trees, plants and grass reproduce during the spring, summer and fall seasons. Unfortunately the affects of pollen can have very uncomfortable and sometimes severe reactions to allergy sufferers.
Allergic reactions to pollen are usually in the form of grass such as rye and timothy, weeds, such as ragweed and trees in the form of birch pollen and others. An allergic reaction is caused by the immune system attacking an outside particle that it believes is dangerous to the body. In effect, an allergic reaction is an over reaction to a non harming particle.
Allergic reactions to pollen usually cause the following symptoms: red and watery eyes, stuffed up and runny nose, rashes, itching and scratching and shortness of breath. For most people pollen only causes mild to moderate symptoms which can easily be controlled or reduced with over the counter products such as anti histamines and decongestions. If your symptoms are severe, you should consult with a physician for proper diagnosis and treatments that can help you reduce the discomfort from allergic reactions to pollen.
