Snapdragon » gardening
Snapdragons are beautiful annuals that come in a variety of colors ranging from yellow, white, purple, blue, etc. They get their name from being able to form a dragon’s mouth with their bloom. They are usually easy to grow and great for either the pot, garden or even cut.Snapdragons come in a variety of sizes. There is a dwarf version that is usually only about 10 inches, the normal variety that is usually between 18 to 24 inches and even an extra tall variety that can be over 4 feet tall. Usually each snapdragon flower creates about 6 or 8 spikes during a growing season.

These flowers are normally grown in a pot, planter or garden, however many people are now using them as cut flowers in bouquets. At a time, these flowers weren’t the best for being cut, due to the blossoming flowers falling off once a bee would fertilize them; however there are new varieties of snapdragons that no longer have this problem.

These flowers should be properly drained and do well in the sun, as well as semi shade. Make sure that the water and soil are ph neutralized. Most gardeners love this annual for its unique look, ease to grow and aesthetic beauty.
