Primrose » gardening

The Primrose is a great flower for any garden that has shade or partial shade. These flowers grow best away from direct sunlight and the host of colors that they come will make any gardener happy. The Primrose is a small flower that grows only about 12 inches in length and has a diameter of about 6 to 12 inches. These flowers are extremely popular and require light maintenance. They come in red, yellow, blue, maroon, white, etc.

What makes these flowers extremely popular is how well they do in the shade. They even grow very well in rock gardens. However, for best results plant them in peat moss. They do well in soils which are rich in minerals and that are very moist. Drainage is not as important as with other flowers and these flowers are usually pretty hardy, so you don’t have to worry about constant care.

While they do well in seasonal climates, they do not grow well in the hotter climates or very cool climates. The Primrose usually seeds itself, however if you have bought a hybrid, you may not be that satisfied with the seeds they produce. You can usually buy seeds, plant them indoors and then plant them in your garden or yard at about 6 inches away from each other.
