Marigold » gardening

Marigolds are popular flowers. They are usually tall in height and can reach over 3 feet in length. These flowers are usually easy to grow and come in similar colors; usually being gold, yellow, orange or even crimson.

Besides traditional marigolds, there are also French marigolds which are only about 8 to 10 inches in height. Marigolds don’t usually smell pleasant, but they are definitely pretty to look at.

Marigolds are popular, due to the ease of growing them. They grow well in almost all climates except in the extreme cold. Marigolds can be planted in your garden or yard right after the last frost. Many gardeners usually plant them in pots and then transfer them into the garden for an earlier bloom. When planting these flowers, you should space them about 10 to 16 inches apart.

The marigold and French marigold will usually bloom throughout the summer and fall months. If they are planted in warm or tropical climates, they can even flower in the winter time. The only drawback for these flowers is that they can attract mites and certain flies. You can counter these insects by using a water hose on these flowers on a regular basis. You should also water these flowers regularly if they are in a dry or warm climate.
