Pedometers » fitness and exercise

Pedometers are an exercise tool that is growing in popularity as more and more people turn to walking, jogging and running to get in shape and lose weight. Pedometers are small matchbook size devices that fit either on the belt or on your jogging pants or shorts, there job is to record the distance that you have walked, jogged or ran.

Pedometers usually work by motion of your legs and are usually very accurate in giving you the exact distance you have traveled. Many pedometers also have added features such as calories burned, a stop watch, clock and some even have audio in the form of a talking computer which will voice your distance, so it is not necessary to read from the display.

Pedometers can be found at practically all sports stores and usually range from about $10 to about $40. You can easily wear a pedometer on almost any clothing and it is a great way to get the most out of your exercise, especially if you are training each day and want to make sure you walk the proper distance. If you are looking for a great way to keep track of your walking, jogging or running, the easiest way to accomplish this task is with a pedometer.
