XD cards are similar to SD cards except they are only used for a select few digital cameras. The other type of memory for digital cards is flash stick memory. Practically all types of digital camera memory is extremely reliable due to the lack of moving parts, however if you are looking to get the most use out of your digital camera, you should look to use SD memory because it is usually the most affordable and most popular among digital camera manufacturers.
