Some receivers allow you to have not only 2 rear speakers, but 2 additional side speakers which allow you to put an extra set of speakers which are angled at the side of your ears. While most people usually place these rear and side channel speakers on speaker stands, more and more people are preferring to install them right into the walls for a cleaner looking set up and perfect positioning.

While in the wall speakers are usually the same price as normal side or rear surround speakers, they do require the extra expense of installing them in your wall. However if you want a clean installation without wires and stands, these speakers are a great investment.
