One of the top three types of exams given is the fill in the blank test. While most people find these tests to be difficult, there are ways to improve your chances of doing well on them, here are some tips.

Fill in the blank tests are when a question or phrase is given and you must complete the sentence or fill in the correct keyword or phrase that corresponds with it. Most of the time, the phrase or keyword is not available and you must recall it from memory.

In order to do well on a fill in the blank test, you must read a lot and study the important terms enough, so that you can memorize them and recall them when necessary. Fill in the blank tests are much more difficult to study for and require much more time in order to memorize terms and phrases.

Another good way to study for fill in the blank tests is to ask your professor what terms will be on the test. Don’t waste your time learning terms that will not be on the test, be proactive and ask questions, it will save you lots of time.

Fill in the blank tests are usually easy to correct and grade, however they are more time consuming to correct due to the fact that most fill in the black tests must be corrected by a person instead of a computer.
