The Siberian Husky is a large size dog with incredible blue or silver eyes and a long feathered coat. These majestic looking dogs are incredibly beautiful, strong and determined workers. They are usually about 21 to 24 inches in height and weigh around 45 to 65 pounds. They are similar to the Alaskan Husky, except they are usually smaller in size and have colored eyes.
The Siberian Husky are great dogs, but only make great pets for special handlers. A Siberian Husky is only happy when it has an activity or work to do. They are extremely intelligent and enjoy being with their owners either pulling a sled, skis or jogging. They obviously do very well in the cold weather and have been used for hundreds of years by Native Indians, as well as explorers. They are essential to the artic.
They are very pleasant to be around and are very gentle and kind dogs. They are very loyal and will work hard for their owners. Training is easy for them, as they enjoy to learn new things, however their training must have a point, or they will lose interest quickly. Siberian Huskies are generally healthy dogs and can live to about 12 to 15 years old.
