The Miniature Poodle is an elegant and sometimes fussy looking dog. These dogs are usually considered toy style dogs. Their looks are extremely important and their coats are usually in three different styles. Many poodles usually have short hair, others have coarse or corded hair the many owners decide to make a Continental look out of this breed. The Continental look is when the front end of the poodle is closely clipped and the rear is shave or extremely short and the legs are either shaved or extremely short leaving bracelets around the extremities. Colors can vary, but they are usually only solid and come in black, white, blue, silver, etc.
These dogs are very affectionate, happy go lucky, easy to keep in the home and loyal. It should be noted that many poodles can be very nervous, usually due to poor breeding or living conditions. These dogs are great for the home and apartment living and perfect for the lap. They do require grooming regularly. They do well with kids, other dogs and other types of pets. However, they do require plenty of attention.
Training these dogs is usually very easy, since they are quite smart. They are usually healthy and have a long life expectancy.
