Using Voice Over Internet Protocol

It is with your interests in mind that we bring this article. We hope that you find some use for this information.

Using Voice Over Internet Protocol » do it yourself

Many people are just learning about the benefits of Voice Over Internet Protocol, commonly referred to as VOIP technology.  VOIP technology allows users with a computer and broad band internet technology to call people either on the other parties’ phone or contact them through their computer.

VOIP has been around for several years, but has exploded in popularity and practicality in the last couple of years.  There are many VOIP services that either offer free communications or very low cost phone calls over a broad band internet connection.

Two main companies are Vonage and Skype.  Skype can connect you over the internet to other members where you can chat away just like a phone call whether you are in the same city or at different parts of the world.  The best part about Skype is that if both parties communicate over their computer and are members of the service than the service is free.  Vonage is another great VOIP company that offers small business and residential phone service for a monthly fee of about $25.  With Vonage, you can contact any landline, mobile or internet phone user in the world.  You can talk as much as you want with any one in America and Canada and it is only a little more expensive for international calls.  So if you are looking for a great telephone technology, check out VOIP.
