How to Get a Raise
Make sure to pass the knowledge you get on from this report after reading it.
If you have been working at a job for a while and think that you are well worth your salary, you are probably thinking about getting a raise. There are many strategies that you can follow to get a raise, but here are a few.
First off, make sure you are doing a good job, if you are not doing a good job, then you can’t expect anyone to pay more for your services. While having others critique your performance can be difficult, try to talk to your managers on a regular basis and find out how they perceive your job performance. Try to do it in an email or written form, so you have written proof of your excellent work ethic.
While many corporations have a set time each year where they will review your performance and determine if you will be receiving a raise, it should be known that any time you feel that you are entitled to more money, you should ask for it. Don’t let the review process stand in your way. You can ask for a raise at anytime.
If you are dead set on getting a raise, find another job and then tell your old employer that you are planning on leaving and the main reason is due to compensation. Your old employer might add up the numbers and figure that you are worth keeping. For instance, to pay a fee for a new employee and to train him or her is far more expensive than let’s say $5K. However if your boss balks, you better be prepared to leave.
