Ways to Transport Data From One Computer to Another » computers

Many times we need to transport data from one computer to another. During the old days, we used to carry stacks of floppy disks around since they only held about one megabyte of data. However, today’s technology is much more advanced and transporting data can be very easy. Here are some tips.

The easiest way to transport data is via the internet. Unfortunately sometimes even broadband is not ideal. You may want to transfer a few gigabytes of data or media from one computer to another. It can take hours to transfer that much data through the internet.

A great way to transfer large amounts of data from one computer to another is through portable hard drives. These hard drives can hold more than 160 GB of data and can be carried around easily. They can hook up to any computer within seconds usually via a USB plug and work just like the computers hard drive.

Flash drives are also a great way to transfer data. You can transfer 500 MB or up to 2 GB of data with these tiny little modules that can fit on your keychain. You just plug them into your computer via the USB port and you are ready to go. Another great way to transfer data is with the use of CD and DVD media. CD media can carry 700 MB of data and DVD media can carry over 4 GB of data. So check out all these wonderful ways to transfer data from one computer to another.
