TV/Computer Monitors

One of the newer innovations that have appeared over the last few years is the computer monitor that is also a TV set. The technology to create a TV set from a computer monitor has been around for a while, however with more and more people hooking their cable as well as their broadband internet connection from the same line, it is easier than ever to use your computer monitor as a TV or TV as a computer monitor.
LCD (liquid crystal display) technology is behind this big advance, LCD technology is used on both computer monitors and TV sets and since most computer monitors are now 17 inches, 19 inches and more, they make it perfect for viewing television programming on it as well. An added plus is that many LCD computer monitors are now wide screen, so watching digital HDTV is also possible and in wide screen format.
Usually the TV/computer monitors looks the same as a normal computer monitor except that it has a TV tuner in the back and possibly a few more inputs or outputs. TV/computer monitors are very affordable and usually only $50 to $100 more for a stand alone device. If you are looking to save room and money, instead of buying both a TV and a computer monitor, buy a TV/computer monitor.
