Multi Core Technology at computers reports

If you are thinking about buying a new computer this coming year, you should know about multi core technology. Multi core technology has been a huge buzzword for the last couple of years and finally is making its way in the market where it has become extremely popular.

Multi core technology means that unlike a standard micro processing chip in your computer that has only one core or processor, multi core technology has two processors on one chip, that means almost double the processing speed and power. Today’s computers offer two cores or what is o referred to as dual core, however multi core processors are on their way, with chips that will have 4, or even 8 cores in the coming future.

Multi core can be great for people that run lots of tasks or threads. If you press your Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys, a task manager will come up on your Windows XP computer, you can click on the tab processes and see a long list of threads. Instead of one computer chip handling all these threads, two, four or more cores will handles these threads increasing performance and power and reducing the amount of energy and the temperature that your chips perform at.
